Additional storage
Used only when it costs less than adding vSAN hosts (or is required, for shapes with no local vSAN). Cheapest picks the lowest-priced option that suits running VMs in the region.
Discount
One discount per cloud, taken off that cloud's whole price: hosts and any additional storage (including GCVE storage-only nodes). For example 50% halves the total, whichever commitment is selected.
Sizing assumptions
RAID-5 needs 4 hosts and RAID-6 needs 6; smaller clusters fall back to RAID-1. vSAN policy, free-space headroom and dedup/compression apply to vSAN only; additional storage such as OCI Block Volume is sized at the capacity needed. Click the i beside a setting for what it means.
